Here are recipes that I make at home all of the time. They are both easy to prepare, taste great and will be sure to impress!
Walleye Italiano (or Walleye Parmesan, whichever you prefer) When cooking fish, the amount of fish that you happen to have will vary, depending on how many people you serve and how many fish you caught. Even if it’s only 1 little fish, these recipes will work! When I give the amounts used, that too will be different depending on the amount of fish used. Experiment and try different things. That’s how cooking goes, like fishing, you only get better with practice! Let’s get cooking!
Here’s what you’ll need 1 square glass baking dish 2 or so walleye fillets, about 1-1/2 pounds 1 Jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce (any sauce will do, it’s up to you) 1 cup or so of grated mozzarella cheese Sprinkle of oregano, if you have it OK, here goes! Turn your oven on and preheat to 350 degrees. Take your glass dish and put about ½ of the sauce on the bottom. Next, we want to make sure our fish is rinsed. (Always do that with fresh fish) Layer the fillets on top of the sauce, then use the remaining sauce and spread it evenly on top of the fillets. (you don’t have to be perfect, no one is) Sprinkle the cheese on top (you can use more or less cheese if you want, it still tastes good) scatter a pinch of oregano over the cheese and place uncovered dish into the oven for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned. That’s it! You may want to ad a little salt to the fish before topping it but don’t overdo it! |
